Reviews and Ratings
Although the hotel was in a very central location, near the fish market and within easy reach of many viewpoints, my stay was marred by the disappointing room situation. The rooms felt tiny, worn, and poorly appointed, giving an overall run-down impression despite efforts to make them look somewhat put together.
I couldn't have asked for a better location! The hotel is right in the heart of Bergen, near all the key attractions and with everything within walking distance. The rooms were bigger than expected and clean, offering a view of the lively high streets, but they could get a bit noisy at times. The service was exceptional, with staff going out of their way to assist, like carrying our bags and ensuring easy access to the hotel. The dining experience was top-notch, especially the variety at the breakfast buffet. However, some noise from the surroundings could be heard in the rooms.
The hotel offers smart and spacious rooms, but practicality for storing clothes during longer stays may be limited. The service is characterized by helpful, interesting, and friendly staff, making for a pleasant experience overall. The location is central, convenient for exploring cultural and scenic places, although the dining options might be slightly restricted. Despite some areas for improvement, the facilities are adequate and contribute to a comfortable stay.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were a huge disappointment, tiny and poorly appointed, but there were lovely and atmospheric spaces like the mirrored bar and light-filled restaurant. We had to deal with noise from the bar above during the night, which was bothersome. The service was very helpful and friendly, making my overall experience pleasant. The location was great, close to the airport tram and harbor, with convenient access to the fish market and shopping. However, the dining experience was a bit chaotic, even though the choices were substantial. The facilities were average, nothing exceptional.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and located right under the Bar with a lot of attention to detail. The service was top-notch, with very friendly and attentive staff showing great professionalism. The location couldn't have been better, very central and superb for its proximity to the KODE art museums and other sights. The experience was made even better with a decent bar and great breakfast. However, the overall price was not the best value for money.
Despite some room disappointments, the hotel's central location, friendly service, and bountiful dining options make it a great choice to explore Bergen. The fantastic underfloor heated bathroom tiles are a nice touch.
My stay at the hotel was mostly delightful. The room overlooking the square and away from the harbor was a bit of a letdown compared to the charming older rooms in the main section of the building. I wished for some wall paneling and brighter lights to enhance the ambiance, especially in the mornings when it's dark until late. The lack of a closet and a shower bath without a tub or glass enclosure, just a curtain, were minor inconveniences.
The hotel rooms were recently updated and very comfortable with a large bathroom, but I was slightly disappointed by the older rooms in the main building. The service was excellent, although the staff seemed a bit uninformed about local recommendations. The location was great with good access to transportation, and the dining experience was good but with limited choices. Overall, a comfortable stay with a few minor drawbacks.
The hotel is centrally located in the Bryggen area of Bergen, perfect for exploring with plenty of amenities nearby. The rooms, though cozy, lacked storage space, and moving around with luggage was a bit inconvenient. The service was exceptional, with friendly and accommodating staff going above and beyond to assist guests. The dining experience offered delicious meals in a beautiful setting. Facilities were well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay overall.
My stay at the hotel was truly exceptional. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and luxuriously clean with beautiful parquet floors. The service went above and beyond, especially in assisting with mobility issues. The location was superb, right in the center with easy access to all attractions. The dining experience was top-notch with a delightful array of options. Overall, a fantastic experience.
